Historic District Commissioner Training Workshop

Whether you are a long-standing historic district commissioner, new to the commission, or somewhere in the middle, you will benefit from this interactive workshop. Participants will learn the role of the commissioner, the nationally accepted preservation standards to use when making commission decisions, due process, the appeals process, how to work with property-owners in the district, and more.

Instructor Sharon Ferraro will present and answer questions, addressing issues facing Metro Detroit commissions.

The library has a surface parking lot available for parking. If this lot fills up, street parking is available on all of the surrounding streets.

A light dinner will be provided.

Registration closes Friday, June 1.

This training is free thanks to our sponsors, the Michigan State Housing Development Authority and the State Historic Preservation Office.

Special thanks to our partner, the City of Huntington Woods, for hosting this training.
